Before Covid I attended a knowledge exchange workshop hosted at the University of Glasgow’s Law School. The topic was an important one: mediation and development related conflict. I was honoured to be a panelist on the release of the event report earlier this year. The report features contributions from myself and experts from the International Institute for Environment and Development, the Glasgow Centre for International Law & Security, Reseau de Lutte Contre la Faim (Network to Fight Hunger) and TrustWorks Global.

The findings of this report apply to the pipeline of green and SDG aligned projects in developing countries.  Development finance institutes and export credit agencies should take interest in this report. This is because they play an important role in funding green projects through blended finance and PPP instruments. Preventing conflict and ensuring early stage inclusion of local communities in projects which affect them is vital to a just transition.

The report can be found here. IIED Mediation and Conflict Report.
